Hailed by the NY Times for her “magnificently sweet tone” oboist Keve Wilson skipped math as a kid to practice Irish jigs and reels instead. Having performed everywhere from Argentina to New Zealand, Keve recently recreated the Mitch Miller oboe solos from Charlie Parker with Strings at Birdland, as well as with Jazz at Lincoln Center and on Arbors Records with Ken Peplowski. She has played in the orchestras for 21 Broadway shows, including Sondheim’s final show Here We Are at The Shed in NYC, Company, Carousel with Renee Fleming, and the 2014 Tony Winner A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. Keve performed the Bach Double Concerto for oboe and violin with celebrated violinist Eugene Drucker to ring in the New Year in 2023 and in 2024 played the New York premiere of Ruth Gipps’s Oboe Concerto. Keve spends each summer as solo english horn of Festival PAAX in Mexico, conducted by Alondra De La Parra and as oboe faculty at the Mostly Modern Festival in Saratoga Springs, NY. She has recorded for Bruce Springsteen, Michael Deleo and Miguel Zenon, and has a YouTube channel where she showcases all of the pop songs using oboe and english horn. Keve inspires band and orchestra students from around the country with her original show From the Band Room to Broadway. and has given her career class to over a dozen universities. While living in Los Angeles, she premiered Peter Schickele’s oboe quartet After Hearing Bach and was the 2nd oboist of Opera Pacific for 6 years. A winner of Concert Artists Guild and graduate of Eastman School of Music, Keve is on the faculty of Manhattan School of Music.

Music festivals include Newport Jazz Festival, New Zealand Music Festival, Chamber Music Northwest, Bremen Music Fest, Mostly Mozart Festival in San Luis Obispo, Swannanoa Chamber Music, The Tanglewood Music Center, Juneau Jazz and Classics and many others. “Seeing them perform is a total battery recharge. The joy they find in playing with each other and re-inventing/re-creating music that most of us have long taken for granted is so inspiring."
